I could write my culinary skills on a postage stamp but I fancy making a batch of Cream Of Mushroom Soup. Can it be frozen or preserved in jars? If so, advice would be appreciated.
Tanx in advance.

Cream of?
Hmmm...that'd worry me.
Might freeze for a very short time and need reheating slowly.
Could you make just mushroom soup and freeze that...then add cream when it comes to eating it?
You read my mind but I just needed confirmation. Ta.

I don't see why it wouldn't be ok frozen fully made up, I often freeze cream if I'm going to use it in cooking and it's fine.

If I think about it I take it out of the freezer to defrost. If I don't, I just microwave it then and there (Takes quite a while cos is quite a chunk of ice) It needs stiring or you get a lump of ice in the middle. Either way the results are the same, delicious soup.
I freeze soup and if in a hurry run the container under the hot tap to get the soup lump out the put a very little water in a saucepan and heat slowly until defrosted then brung to a gentle simmer. Frozen soup looks a bit odd when defrosted but returns to its original form once heated. A bit wary of preserving in jars as the acid content isn't high enough and it could be dangerous.

Maybe i am just lucky, i always make massive batches of soup for those days i cannot be bothered to cook, often have cream in them either leave on the side to defrost or wack in the microwave. Always been fine
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

No, you're not lucky, you're just doing something that works and I'm struggling to think of any reasons why it wouldn't.

I think it's the cream content that make some folk hesitant.
