Haggis pie

Burns night has past but it reminded me of this pie I had in Scotland.
I might have mentioned this before but never mind here it is again.
Imagine a pork pie case without a lid, say 3 inch across.
In the bottom was a layer of haggis, followed by a layer of neeps and finally a layer of mash.
The pie was then grilled so the mash had a crispy top.
Yummy
Anyone else seen these.
I have never seen any in England and thought they would go down well for Burns night.

We had haggis on Burns Night but brought 2more back with us and they are now frozen.
Will certainly serve one of them up like this ...thanks!

Normally I microwave the haggis but this year I didn't have access to one, so cooked it in the oven.
I nearly fell over backwards when I read it needed cooking for 200 minutes!

Yes have seen these, although not that common to get them.

I'm sure 'true Scots' would shudder at the thought...but I could see an alternative would be a thick layer of haggis, then a thin layer of stewed apple topped with mashed potato and neeps together, then crispened in the oven.
Served with freshly baked beetroot.

I've been offered a haggis pie before at A Play, a Pie and a Pint at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre - amongst other types. What passes for haute cuisine up here you know

I was going to say that Gr*** baker do them, but that might be a lie.... but then again, they were closest to place of work.

When working in Glasgow, quite a few bakers had them.
