Hi Lottie have you ever thought of making Strawberry syrup,?
My Dad can't digest the seeds so I made him some syrup.
I took all the really ripe strawberries I had that I knew would be full of flavour, washed and chopped them up, put them in a saucepan with no excess water and put them on a low heat until they had softened. I put them through a sieve initially and pushed them through with a spoon and them restrained that through muslim to make sure there was no pips. I ended up with just over a 1/4 pint to which I added 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice and 2 heaped dessert spoons of sugar. I boiled it for approx 5-10mins and then bottled it. (it was all hit and miss I'm afraid as it was an experiment) The syrup was the texture of cough syrup... lol.. but the flavour was devine, and full of strawberry flavour. It's been a big hit with Mum and Dad x

Thankyou,i was toying with the idea of just blending them, and push though the sieve, then freeze in ice cube trays, they should be nice in ither a cold water or a milk shake,i have in the past done milk shakes just the berries,no sugar, taste was nice, not so good are the end bits, hence my thought,i love your idea, but need to think on sugar content,it's like the rose syrup you can buy, nice but.sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these
