  • roasted Pumpkin/squash/courgette seed

Anyone tried home roasting or salting them?
seems a waste to chuck them out!

I dry-ish fry them in a cast-iron frying pan until they pop.

I see a lot of sunflower seeds on sale here which have been cooked in very salty water.
You break the outer bit off first and spit that out, but the middle bit is lovely. Fiddly but a bit like eating pistatio nuts I suppose.
Presumably you eat all of the pumpkin seed VC and not just the inside ?

If its tough I spit it out - the bigger seeds can be a bit woody.

Bought pumpkin seeds for eating are hull-less.

I shell my pumpkin seeds while sipping on some fizz - it slows you down

I did the seeds out of a pattypan squash this year.

rolled them in oil, garlic salt, paprika and chilli powder then roasted them for 10-20 minutes (can't remember). Very nice, if a bit too spicy...
