Plop cause they get plopped into the pan.
Grew some Charlotte spuds this year. Did well and had a large sack. Just used the last, they had sprouted a bit so peeled this last of the sack.
Used some for Sunday dinner, spuds, chicken and mushroom pie, yorkshire puds and sweetcorn cobs, yummy.
There were plenty left so made some plop burgers.
Two leeks from the garden, some nero kale, sage and thyme. Fried up with some salt and pepper.
Mashed the spuds and added veg and some oats. Then a bit of milk to bind and make them go "plop".
I use a burger press but you could just plop some mix into the pan.
Fry to crisp on both side.
Serve with some runny fried eggs and a dollop of piccalilli.
