Veggie risotto tonight topped with cubes of roast parsnip and toasted cashews.

Smoked cod baked in milk for my husband, lamb steak for me, potatoes dauphinoise, carrots and peas. Gravy for me.

Potato floddy topped with grated cheddar, runny yolk fried duck eggs and rocket.

What a great word floddy is. I had to look it up. And now I want one (preferably two).

Anyway, things went awry yesterday. Mr Snoop had some repair work to do so I couldn't get at the oven to make soup. So lunch was a hurried spaghetti with bung-it-all-in sauce. And supper was not waffles but bread and cheese.

Today isn't really going to plan either. Extremely late breakfast of toast and butter. Mr Snoop has just gone out but neither of us hungry for lunch, so a cup of tea and yes, another slice of toast. Will have to make soup tonight.

(Not much of the loaf left. It was my first run at this particular recipe and a great success, but I daren't make another, otherwise it'll be another load of toast and cheese for tea.)

Homemade fishcakes for small humphs - have cooked fish and potatoes, got the bread crumbs ready etc, so they can mush it together and have cooked their own dinner!

Hopefully there's leftovers for myself and Mr HH...

Lunch: Lamb tagine (from the freezer) and veg.

Supper: Minestrone soup (definitely today).

Some rolls for neighbours plus a loaf to prove overnight for baking tomorrow.
