    I have previously frozen, cooked beets,and made cake with grated fresh,BUT

    Has anyone frozen grated for use later on,for either cake,salad stir fry ext,

    i have severeral to do sumat with,
    thanks

    I've also frozen cooked beetroot curry which turned out fine - it doesn't have much water in it so I don't see why not!

      Hi LD,
      I would suggest that you grate the beet fresh and freeze spread out on a baking tray before bagging up ( perhaps in the amount you need for a cake? ) Let it defrost before adding to your cake mix, and stir fry from frozen. I am not sure about what the texture may be like for salads or stir fry but anything is worth a try once. It should be fine in baked goods.

      Let us know how it turns out ( with your fav. recipe )

        Thank you,i shall set the shredder on my kitchen help MR Ken,and get to work,it works fine in a stir fry,just have not used it from frozen,only for a sandwich,the salad one was,you get it fresh grated in some shop ones,
        You know what,i bet it would make some sort of fritters,with other things added as well mmmmm,got a get thinking,
