  • What to do with a lobster?

I bought a lobster earlier today on a whim but as I've never even eaten it before, nevermind served it, I wonder if anyone has any tips? It's a frozen one and already cooked. As I'm hoping the children will at least try it, I wonder if just heating it up and adding butter or something would be best? Or do they really need some sort of seasoning or accompaniment?

Has it been 'dressed', Seahorse - or does it look like you'll need a toolkit to get in?

Suggest you tell the kids that they can't play with the big snappy claws till they've eaten their dinner!

I hadn't thought to look inside the packet! Hard to be certain, as it's encased in seawater (or so it says) but I think it's 'as was' rather than open.

So it's 'first find your hammer...' is it!?

After your experiences with the shed, it should be a doddle!

No doubt gastromically minded grapes will be along shortly to help!

Lol! That's great Nicos! I think I'll have to set a place at the table for the 'puter, so it can remind us what to do!

Heat it up, split it down the middle and serve with melted butter to dip it in. Gorgeous.

I was 40 years old before I tasted lobster(it was one of the things on my to-do list before I snuffed it!) What a let down!!!

Instead, give me a Whitby,Scarborough or Filey crab anyday, yum!

Get a recipe for Lobster Thermidor - a huge amount of FAFFF but absolutely well worth it.

Recommended by a chef friend of ours and one we do occasionally when a lobster comes our way.
