It was from Lidl broadway! I haven't tried it yet though. My Mum is coming over for a couple of days next week, so I thought we could have it then (with the local takeaway on speed dial as back up ).

They are good. I keep a few in the freezer as Piglette loves lobster and I must say I scoff the occasional one as well. At the price you really cannot go wrong.

Saw a recipe for Lobster Masala on the Satuday Kitchen yesterday, it looked really nice. The only time I've had lobster was when I was given a small one (live!) when I lived on Orkney. Had it in a brown bread sandwich with lemon and mayo, it was brilliant.

Just wondered if there's much difference in taste between fresh and frozen though?

PS And whether that dead sailor taste percolates through!

I've no idea how it compared to fresh, as it was my first ever lobster but it was nice!

broadway - if you're thinking of going to Lidl, I'd say you might want to get a whole one per person, as they're pretty small!

I've only ever had lobster once. I was rather disappointed. Bland, chewy. Maybe it was not typical but I've never bothered shelling out that much again.

Ah but I had thought ahead and also made a Romaesco Cauli Cheese (home grown, natch!) as I suspected the kids would freak out at the sight of it (although to be honest, it was me that didn't care for the eyes looking at me! ).
