Well done to everyone who has lost weight!!! Well done, its huge accomplishment!!

I know its very difficult, I lost 42lbs myself, which is 3 stone about a year, I find it very difficult to maintain considering my BMR and metabolism is low, I would like to lose about another 7lbs and 'tone up', I pretty much hate the gym but enjoy certain exercise classes.
Congrats to those working on a healthier lifestyle, I haven't ready everything posted but My main points of advice is drink plenty of water, cold, warm, whatever! when you start to feel hungry try drinking water first.
Base meals around veggies, try to limit what you eat after 8-9pm as I find I reach for crap around this time.
O I just signed up with Food Focus - Permanent Weight Loss which is a nice lil way for tracking what you've eaten.

      Best wishes!

        Hi angeleyezy

Thanks for the link, I've signed up too. Do you know if you can add the calories for a food that isn't listed if you know it?

Food Focus - Permanent Weight Loss

This has shown me that I am under estimating the amount of calories I am eating however I do find it difficult to search for the foods that I have eaten.

Weight loss in a week 2lbs so I am very happy at the moment

well done Borage. I think most people underestimate how much they eat (and how many calories). Mr Sheds told me he didn't eat much (like a lot of overweight people he only had 3 meals a day, but they were enormous portions of high-fat foods like cheese, kebab, creamy curry, chips...)

sez, ive been trying to lose weight too have found homemade soup helps is low fat and health plus easy to cook. heres a basic to start you off depending on family size adjust quantaty accordingly as receipy is for 6 people. chop veg to really small sqares and never liquidise you body burns more calories digesting lumps than liquid. heres the receipy4 veg oxo cubes 2 medium carrots 1 medium potatoe 20 stands spagetti 1 spanish onion 2 garlic cloves 3 pints of boiling water. chop everything and put in pan together boil on high heat for around 40 minutes or simmer around 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. smaller veg chopped quicker it cooks. eat with a pitta or for extra protein add handful of red kidney beans or pearl barley. be aware too much bread will cause weight gain due to starch and yeast. hope this helps ive lost weight with this as its delious and makes me think of dinning out.

too much of anything will make you gain weight. Yeast of itself doesn't cause weight gain.
Soup is terrific for filling you up. It can be quick too, it doesn't need to boil for an hour ...just long enough to cook & soften the ingredients. I made a veg and borlotti bean soup from scratch in 15 mins at the weekend.

I love having a bowl of soup lunchtime so I tend to make up a big pan full and keep it in the fridge to use throughout the week.

I am a yo yo dieter, have been a Weightwatcher for more years than I care to remember. I do try to eat healthy, but sometimes go off the rails at weekends. I also like wine, but have cut down. I find the weight sticking as you get older, when I my joints allow I have two plots on my allotment to keep me busy, also have two dogs that are walked every day. But it is difficult to shift, will try again, perhaps we can support each other.

                        Best of Luck everyone.

I think it is def harder to shift weight when you get older. Not fair!
I wimped out of vlass ths week due to sickness bug.. maybe should have gone and been delighted with the 'false' loss!

There are lots of soups with zero or very few calories to help. I also find in summer having a bowl of chopped mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, baby sweetcorn... all very sweet veg helps take the edge off hunger.

janeyo - 30 lbs and counting. Not got any clothes that fit! Even pjs and pants are too big, lol.
