baby turnip recipes?

Hi my turnips are ready! I have only ever put them in stews in the winter or added to male mashed potato more interesting.

Does anyone know anything exciting I can do with them?

Can I freeze them?

Mash them with carrots, our kids even like them! And very simple to make. Recipe below.

Have heard they are good steamed with a bit of butter. I am pretty sure you can freeze them blanched. The older ones are good in a soup/stew with collard/pick your favorite green and ham hocks.

Seems unlikely - but they are lovely in a white wine sauce. Honest.

Just grate or slice them into salad when they're young and tender. Treat like radish.

I like them steamed with butter and a bit of ground black pepper. Another nice way is to roast them with carrots, onions and garlic - just chop the carrots and turnips, quarter the onions and take the top bit off the garlic (to expose the cloves) drizzle with olive oil and put them in the bottom of the oven with the roast spuds.

I am going to cube them and parboil, then saute in butter.
I am going to use the tops as greens too. I assume steaming these will be better? Do I slice them like spring greens and cabbage or leave them whole to wilt like spinach?

note to self must remember to only grow stuff I know what to do with in the kitchen lol - but where's the fun in that!?
