Hi
Gypsy Tart is a Kent thing; nobody I ever met since moving away from Kent has ever heard of it.
I tried it with Condensed milk at Christmas and it turned out like treacle tart; soooo full of calories but lovely.
I large tin evaporated milk
12oz brown sugar
whisk together until the sugar is blended in.
Pour into baked pastry case and back for 25 mins in 180 degree oven.
cool, eat then spend a month dieting.

We used to have it at school with an apple as if that made it healthy![To clean your teeth afterwards]The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

a lot of the setting happens in cooling but you could eat it still warm~would go for thick cream instead of custard~if ya gonna blow the diet you may as well do it in style!the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

I've never tried this one, but it sounds as if you could convert it into something very like banoffee pie by just adding some whipped cream and banana slices just before serving. This might be enough to tempt family members who 'don't like it'......Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
