Vine Leaves

It hasn't occurred to me before, but can I use my home grown vine leaves instead of buying those expensive preserved packs in the supermarket - or are they a special variety?

Yes, you can use your own. A vine leaf is a vine leaf. I stuff mine and keep them in cheap olive oil. A nice, cheap luxury!

Excellent! Thanks Polly - found websites that told me how to cook them, preserve them, freeze them - everything but if you could eat every variety!

I have read you should pick them before the end of july as they get tough after that, let me know how you get on, if they're not tough I will collect some of mine!
