Spicy onion chutney?

I know there are a few threads about various red onion preserves and they do look good (will be trying some).

But I have a glut of yellow onions to use some of (I have loads of very large ones and really could do with using some of them now rather than storing all).

And I know I don't get there very often, but on my first trip to Sainsbury's I got a lovely spicy onion chutney that I haven't found again since (I did find a CARAMELISED onion one - but that wasn't NEARLY the same as the SPICY one).

Given that all in our house love Indian food, and both OH and I like chutneys with it (and both really loved this spicy onion one), is there any chance anyone has a recipe coming anywhere close that I could try?

I made a really nice spicy Indian style cauliflower chutney last week that's had the thumbs up from all that have tried it thus far, not tried a spicy onion one though.

hi, the river cottage website has seasonal recipes which include a chutney call GLUTNEY, you could adapt the recipe as it tells you how to spice up your chutney properly, should be useful and i also use this site for indian recipes which has a spicy chutney on it, hope it helps,
