    Thanks Headfry - as I say, I know there are loads of recipes around but I like to know someone else has tried and tested and likes it - cheat or what?!?!
    Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

        Hi Headfry, this is the pumkin soup I made last night;

        Chop up a couple of med onions & gently fry in butter & oil in a large pan
        Add the flesh of a small pumkin - simmer for 10 mins coverd with lid - watch it does not catch. throw in a teaspoon of turmeric & ground cumin, season with salt & pepper & a good pinch of brown sugar. give it a stir & add 1/3 bottle of white and a good glass of water. Simmer until pumkin is cooked, check seasoning & whizz smooth now add fresh chopped coriander, chives, flat parsley [all of them or whatever takes your fancy]. in a warmed bowl place some grated cheese [gruyer or good cheddar] and spoon the thick soup on top add some more grated cheese - serve with warm home made bread.
