I've eaten goat, mutton, and pony, all 'home grown' (the pony 'home grown' by a neighbour, who bred show shetlands and the ones not good enough to sell for showing went in his freezer at 3 years old) as well as pigeon, rabbit and assorted ducks, shot by a neighbour (NOT the pony breeder. Neighbour shot them, I cooked them, he came to dinner). Squirrel would be no problem if it was made available. I must investigate whether they cull the 'tree-rats' around here....
Rabbits, rats and squirrels are all rodents (although rabbits ARE vegetarian...)
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

ROFL at the comments page with this link

Thanks Nicos - great link - the readers comments are very revealing. I didn't realise there was a Grey eradication programme in the North - I suppose it gives the native red a fighting chance.

If that butcher can sell 60 squirrels a day - someone must like the taste.

I'm getting really taste curious now.........
