    How heavy is it?

Haggis is nice served with an onion sauce by the way.

I chop off the metal clasps , cut it into 1/4s ...and open it like a flower- and then stick it in the microwave until the skin shrinks back and the centre has stopped being mushy ( time depends on the size!!)

Sorry, I thought I had a haggis in the freezer but it must be in the big one at the in-laws. Can you call the friend and check?

Another way to serve haggis (and yummy with bacon, egg, sossies and chips) is to slice and fry it - easier to make sure it is cooked through too.

Seems most have them deep fried round here, with a white chocolate sausage, followed by deep fried Mars bar. Can't remember seeing that menu on the telly funnily enough.

Haggis is great with clapshot, a traditional Orcadian dish (and much of Scotland I believe, but not sure if the name is the same). Equal weights of potato and swede (or hardy turnip, but you can't often get those) boiled either together or separately until soft (swede takes a lot longer than potato). Mash together with butter and black pepper.
It is a nice change as topping for cottage pie too, and if you are adventurous you can season it with any handy spices (I add a dash of tabasco sometimes).
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Haggis excellent after being steamed for 20mins-30 mins leave on the wrap and metal clasps, tastes so much better than microwaved or boiled haggis!

Steaming me Christmas Pud as wee speak. If I'd got me act together I could have got the haggis out of the freezer and stuck it in there too!

Actually - I'm saving the haggis for my birthday. I'm doing a Scottish theme - did Japanese last year - my own sushi rolls, seeweed soup etc. this year -
Haggis & neeps, Scotch beef, Athol Brose - and of course a nice single malt.
