  • Brunch: hummus, coleslaw, toms and radishes.
Supper: what we should have had yesterday.

What a great time of year this is for veg. Anybody keeping tabs on their five-a-day? I reckon we had ten yesterday.

      • I have got quite a lot of smoked cod in the freezer so tonight I am going to have a go at smoked cod and pea risotto (with the odd courgette thrown in of course). Nibble dish to begin of radish, cucumber batons, baby tomatoes and olives.
Leftover lemon meringue pie to finish. I did make an over large one yesterday so I took a lump for my brother in law this morning.

          • The smoked cod risotto yesterday was a success. I don't think it would have been half as good without the poached egg on top though.

Tonight I'm thinking chicken and vegetable curry with naan or rice.

            • Our meals are a bit repetitive at the moment, in part because it's whatever's growing and in part because I haven't got the time to think of anything different.

              Brunch: sweetcorn and salad.
Supper: broccoli, green beans, baked toms and courgette fritters.

We didn't have a single courgette yesterday!

              Bread.

              • Salad wraps featuring chillied anchovies followed by fresh peaches.
The peaches are stunningly delish at the moment.

Pork chop bbq tomorrow as it’s supposed to be really nice weather

                • Change of plan for tomorrow’s bbq..…OH has just come back from the freezer holding a couple of spatchcocked quail and a packet of goose hearts ( for kebabs). Those will make a nice change.
