As always I have grown far too many cherry toms.
Last year I bought a food mill.
So I dumped a load in pan and boiled for 15 mins, cooled over night.
Used food mill with fine disk and extracted juice, discarded skins and seeds. The mill did a good job.
Thought I might strain juice though a sieve but result looked watery and decided it needed the pulp, so dumped it back in juice.
Looked much better like proper tomato juice.
      Froze somm 500g bags.
There was some left so popped in the fridge in jug.

Hmm what could I do with a bit of fresh chilled tomato juice ????

In a tall tumbler with ice, Worcestershire sauce and splash of tobasco, topped up with vodka.
      Ahhhh sipping it now.

I saw an advert on telly that said "because 3/4 of your drink is the mixer".
      That's not how I make them !!!

I love tomato juice, if my tomatoes ever ripen I shall be sure to make some.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Still had about a litre left.
In a pan with 2 small chopped carrots and spuds. Couple of stock cubes, salt and pepper.
          A bit of extra water.
From the garden 2 bay leaves, 8 basil leaves a sprig of thyme and a bit of parsley.
          Boil for 20 mins.
Remove bay leaves a sprigs of thyme then blitz.
Serve in a soup dish and add a dollop of double cream.

          I was absolutly yummy!

It was yummy, although so am I. The wife might not agree!

Am I the only one who noticed the vodka bit was missing?
