              • So…tonight will be veggie soup followed by quiche, our french beans and Irish soda bread.

He also found some ‘old’ tuna steaks and roasted veg, so that’ll be for tomorrow night. Sorted!

                • Salt cod with courgettes in a tom sauce.

Mixed wholemeal and white rolls on the go. Some for the neighbour down the valley and some for supper.

                  • Onion tart with salad for supper.

Also making a lamb and aubergine tagine in advance for tomorrow. Will add baked aubergine slices tomorrow but make the lamb part today so I can skim off some of the fat.

No bread! I've made rather a lot lately.

                        • I've got nice bread so I think I'll make some soup. I've been trying to decide between mushroom or leek and potato. I think leek and potato is the winner. I usually use Delia's recipe.

                              • Today, Yorkshire pudding, roast chicken, roast parsnips and potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli and gravy. As we'll have company I'll make a pudding too. At the moment I'm thinking lemon meringue pie or profiteroles filled with whipped cream served with hot chocolate sauce. Both of these are dishes I only ever eat at home as whenever I've had them out they've always been a let down......and they are MY favourites. The joy of being the cook is I get to choose the menu.
