Steak and mushrooms in a creamy sauce served in a baguette. Served with a glass of fizz. Mince pies and cream for pud.
I’ve done this for over 30 years as it’s so simple but feels rather special - mainly because we always worked Xmas Eve and there was so much else waiting to be prepared once we got home.

Roast duck with the usual trimmings, Christmas pud with cream. I've not picked any sprouts so far this season, so Mr Snoop will be properly pleased. There are loads of them, big and fat and a lovely green.
Turkey breast stuffed with duck and Guinea fowl breast, fois gras and apricots and prunes.
Roast spuds ( ours) , carrots ( ours) and parsnips ( ours) , stuffing with our own sage , apples ( ours)and shallots( ours) plus Calvados. Bread sauce made with brioche and cream. Sprouts and chestnuts.
Thank goodness I was on a diet!
Xmas pud, thick birds custard and thick cream followed by cheese and biscuits much later if there is still any space left.
