Cooking tonight (Mk4)

No samosas last night. The neighbour gave me a load of eggs, so supper was cheese omelette sandwich.

Will make the pea and leek filling today for samosas tomorrow. But for tonight, toad in the hole. With whatever green veg I can find in the freezer.

No bread for a change. Yesterday's brioches were more breadlike than I expected, but a great success. Totally suitable as gifts. Will just have to make them a bit smaller. One is big enough for the two of us.

Delving around in the freezer OH came across left over Xmas dinner from last year. As I always tend to over-cater, this was actually intentional, but I’d forgotten it was in there!
So, todays meal will be a four bird roast with all the Xmas trimmings.

Slow cooker sausage and veg casserole for us.

I never got my curry the other day when I was fancying it so tonight will be chicken and sweet potato curry, which is bubbling gently in the slow cooker right now, served with naan.

Steak and roasties with mixed peppers, onions and mushrooms.
cheese and crackers with a glass of red.

More pepper and tomato processing for the freezer. Bread again.

Supper: spaghetti with some kind of sauce, amatriciana or arrabiata depending on what I decide to do with the toms.

Tonight is going to be salmon baked with lemon and capers. Not too sure yet about accompaniments, probably potato scallops in beer batter, tartare sauce and either salad or roast vegetables.

We had the salmon last night but with roast vegetables and couscous and I drank the beer I was going to make batter with.....

Tonight I'm going to make a cottage pie to have with carrots, cabbage and gravy.

I've just been mentally running through the contents of the fridge and freezer and trying to get inspiration. I've settled on chicken and mushroom pie I think. We've not had it since last Winter/Spring and I could really fancy some crumbly pastry. I think we'll have it with mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli, beetroot and gravy.
I'll zap some pastry together the next time I go into the kitchen.
