  • Yesterday was chicken Kiev, roast vegetables and couscous.

Tonight salmon baked with lemon and capers, mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouting broccoli and parsley sauce.

            • OH has made loads of bread so we both fancy a simple meal of baked beans and egg on a selection of toasted breads.

              • I've got the meat and tomato base out of the freezer for "Italian bake". No mention of pasta there as Mr GF still thinks of it as "string". I'll cover it with lots of bechamel sauce and then mozzarella on top. We'll have it with garlic bread and salad.

                  • Imam bayildi.

But there's no getting away from cauliflower: cauli, apple and blue cheese soup.

Might see about making some buns as well. Need some for gifts.

                    • Chinese takeaway this evening.
Breast of chicken curry with basmati rice and a glass of red.
Cheese and crackers and we might even have another glass of red to finish up the holiday.

                        • Lunch: pizza and sachertorte. What a five-year-old's delight! Terrible nutritionally, though. Better come up with something with lots of veg for tea. I wonder if cauliflower with cabbage on the side would do? Probably not...

                          • I've got stew in the slow cooker and mixed Yorkshire pudding batter and put it in the fridge.

I really fancy your lunch though, Snoop....... even though I'm not five and had never heard of pizza or sachertorte when I was five.😋😋

I think I'll make some more raspberry buns too while the oven is cooling.

                              • This is what I made: https://www.maryberry.co.uk/recipes/baking/sachertorte

Bit grown up maybe for five-year-olds, but pretty good for grown-ups. I didn't 'write' sacher. Too much faff. And the topping on mine could have been neater. Went down very well. And very handy to be able to make it in advance. The pizzas were good too.

And I managed to persuade Italian friend to take a cauli and a cabbage! Big win for me.
