  • I had no inspiration for today and there is nothing that needs using up urgently. The 'fridge is pretty empty as tomorrow will be shopping day. There's all sorts in the freezers but nothing I particularly fancy today.

In the end I've taken half a loaf of bread out of the freezer and I'm going to make some tomato soup. It looks like soup weather🌫🌧.

Strawberries and cream for dessert ...just to remind us it is actually Summer.🍓

    • I’ve got my eye on that Briam recipe Bren…just printed it off.
OH would have to go out in the rain though to dig up some spuds if we were to have it today.

Plan A is roast chicken, french beans, runner beans and gnocchi with an apple puree . Maybe fresh Charlotte spuds instead of the gnocchi.
Apple and vanilla ice cream for pud

It feels more like a Sunday here!

        • Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas and gravy.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

              • Neither of us very hungry yesterday but the calories still got consumed... Mr Snoop had an omelette sandwich and I had a toasted cheddar and Branston pickle sandwich. For someone living in Spain, proper Branston pickle is a luxury.

Main meal at lunch today: last of the sausages in an onion gravy with assorted veg. Probably yogurt and fruit for supper as I'll be out late.

                • We had roast pork yesterday with new pots, carrots, sprouts and roast pots. The pork and roasted potatoes I cooked in the Air Fryer and was pleasantly surprised at how moist the joint was and how crispy the potatoes were. Having said that, I have made out bacon sandwich this morning in the griddle pan. I did yesterday's in the AF but it made the bacon dry.
Today is cheese and onion pasty with salad. Strawberries and ice cream after. We had raspberries and blueberries last night, must get some more, they were lovely

                    • Despite the fact that the 'fridge is now full again neither of us is feeling hungry or wanting a big meal. We had the leftover tomato soup from yesterday earlier.

I was thinking either mushrooms with tarragon in a white sauce on toast or poached eggs on toast but I think I've now settled on the mushrooms in white sauce on toast with a poached egg on top. I think I'm talking my appetite into coming back.

                      Strawberries and cream.

                          • Somebody has put the idea of Yorkshire pud into my brain. I'm going to make some chicken casserole and we'll have it with a big Yorkshire pudding.

                            Strawberries and cream to finish.

                            • Lunch as should have been yesterday (the day ran away with me). Supper probably the same as yesterday too if I've got any say in the matter, which is doubtful, actually.

                              • Chicken fajitas for us tonight - inspired by having a good size (albeit green) long sweet pepper ready for picking in the blowaway & because I can't wait any longer to try a couple of our Chilli 'Eureka' that's covered in fruit on the kitchen windowsill
