      • I'm hoping to get away with jacket potato, cheese and beans so I'll only have to use the microwave. Himself is not keen. The last time he endured it was when we had no kitchen! Watch this space ......

            • After much deliberation I've taken a bag of prawns out of the freezer. I'm now deciding between prawn salad with Marie Rose sauce, or prawn risotto. At the moment I'm thinking the salad.

              Some kind of fruit for dessert, maybe with cream.

                  Well, all change.

                  I couldn't find any really nice fresh fruit so I ended up making us individual orange jellies with tinned mandarins in them. Obviously with fresh cream. They actually were so refreshing and melted in the mouth.

                  I also ended up making a spicy tomato sauce to go with the prawns and we had rice with it, so no salad or risotto.

                    • Hake in a white wine sauce with veg. Some kind of fruit tart or sponge flan for afters.

                      Also - if I don't make the banana cake today, I might as well throw the banana out.

                        • Tonight salmon. I think I might steam it to avoid oven heat in the kitchen. My favourite way is to slice a lemon into slices about ¼ inch thick, spread them in the base of a shallow pan, lay the salmon steaks on top, season, and then just put enough water in to come to the top of the lemon slices. Bring to the boil and then simmer covered for about ten minutes until cooked. We'll have new potatoes with broccoli and carrots with it, maybe some parsley sauce.

                          I've made individual orange jellies with mandarins in again.
