  • Low calorie recipes

By popular demand we have a new thread !
The idea is to share links and home recipes for low calorie dishes which we’ve already tried or fancy making.
It would be helpful if there is a calorie count per serving.

Ideally we’d like to be able to use some of our own homegrown fruit and veggies too for these healthy, tasty meals. So - come on, let’s get sharing!

Sweet and Sour chicken - The Hairy Dieters.

    310 calories per portion -
excluding the rice. I served cauliflower rice with it instead and added a few extra veggies.

      vegetable curry
      335 calories per portion

Not tried it yet but will probably substitute the spuds for courgette so it can serve 2 people.
It also comes under the heading of ‘ very quick dishes’

        Here's one of my own:

Courgetti with smoked salmon and creme fraiche
        • Time needed: Ten minutes or so •
        Calories per serving: 195 •
        Servings: 1
        Ingredients
        • 160 g courgetti
        • 6 g butter
        • 35 g peeled, chopped tomato (if using canned, make sure it's really well drained)
        • 40 g smoked salmon, cut into smallish slivers
        • 25 g creme fraiche

        Method
Fry the courgetti in the butter. Add the tomato when the courgetti are nearly done. Cook till the tom is heated through. Then add the smoked salmon. Heat through and then add the creme fraiche. Stir and cook till heated through and you have an amazing looking sauce bubbling in the pan.

I thought I’d include this site on here as it contains loads of healthy recipes which could easily be adapted to lower calorie meals using our own homegrown produce.
