Cooking Tonight #5

Last night I made tomato soup and we had it with a bowl of parmesan and bread and butter. Followed by strawberries and cream.

Today .... no idea. It depends if we go shopping.

We have fresh lambs liver with our onions and spuds. Might open some mushy peas although we have a mountain of fresh veg to pick.
I keep looking at the mince pies we brought back….

I've decided tonight will be cod fishcakes, carrots, cavallo nero, and homemade parsley sauce.

Strawberries and cream.

Nicos, the mince pies are always nicer when they are fresh. It would be a shame to let them spoil.

Probably something else afterwards.
Strangely, I’m fancying apple sponge pudding ….

I think I'm going to make a beef stew/casserole in the slow cooker, to have with Yorkshire pudding or dumplings. Proper Winter grub!

Decision made
Soup with beetroot to start followed by pork chops, cabbage and apple sauce with our own spuds.
Yog for pud.

Lamb tagine for tomorrow. Off out for supper tonight.

Yesterday: the much delayed cauli, pear and blue cheese soup. Lovely, though I know it sounds odd.

Last night's stew and dumplings with mash and cavallo nero was really good. Mr GF finished all of his and I even managed seconds. Still plenty meat left to make potted meat to put in little pots in the freezer.

Tonight I think mushroom soup with a dish of parmesan and bread and butter.

Strawberries and cream if there's still nice strawberries around. If not I'm thinking bread, butter and marmalade pudding. This reminds me that I need to make some marmalade soon.

Leftover bean and courgette back on toast for lunch.

This evening baked potatoes filled with mackerel, peas and pesto. Along with a garden salad.
