Thank you Nicos for your bad influence. The reason I decided to try a different fish and chip shop was our usual one isn't open on Monday. A revelation, and only a mile away. I ordered two fish and a small portion of chips. Scraps, of course, included. I could have fed a small army. The fish were gorgeous and absolutely massive. The chips were just like the ones I used to get at the chip shop on the way home in the sixties. . The best I've had in decades.

Next time one fish and a small chips between us and I still doubt that we will have room for any bread and butter. Mr GF tried his absolute best to eat his half, but had to give in.

We did save room for a few strawberries and cream.

Sorry about that. I had a look at ice cream makers on the UK big river site and they're more expensive in the UK than I realised. Certainly more expensive than here. You'd have to make a lot of frozen yogurt, or really like it, to make it worthwhile. Possibly the kind of thing you might find in a charity shop?

Flo, if you fancy having a go at ice cream, l've got an ice cream maker in the back of a cupboard. It's been sitting there for about ten years at a guess and it is destined for the charity shop. If you are interested I'll hunt it out, make sure all the bits are there, check it works and send it to you. It's a Kenwood by the way, I've just found the instructions.

Big battered fish fingers, chips and mushy peas tonight. Himself has chips and fish every Friday, but I haven't had fish for ages. Apple and Strawberry pie from the freezer with cream.

Tonight curried sweet potato soup with bread and butter and grated parmesan cheese.

Strawberries and cream if I go to buy cream. If not Strawberries and ice cream.

Lasagne from the freezer with salad. Tinned fruit and cream.

Roast chicken. Again, yes I know. But Mr Snoop says he's happy so that means I'm happy.

Edited to add: feeling the need for a pud, so raspberries and cream.

After I consulted Mr GF we changed to fish fingers, hash brown waffles and parsley sauce.
