  • Oh Snoop Puss, you made me laugh🤣🤣🤣. I bet he doesn't buy them again in a hurry.

I think we're having haggis, mashed potatoes and swede, roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese and creamy gravy (maybe with a wee tot of whisky added).

Strawberries and cream for Mr GF. Blue cheese and crackers for me.

    • I reckon he'll still buy those sausages, greenishfing. They're cheap - a big plus in his book. And they're easy to cook. Which is just as well as he's no chef and I've told him I'll have nothing to do with them.

Our Italian friend told us about them, as he buys them for his dog. They are intended for human consumption but the texture is indescribable. Twenty-five for €2.50 or €2.80 for twenty-five with a bit of cheese in them. The list of ingredients is written in such small print I can't even read it with a magnifying glass.

Another proper dinner on a plate today (fish, carrots, green cauli and a few chips, orange for afters), so minestrone soup for supper, I reckon.

        • Oh yuk Snoop..those sausages must be full of rubbish at that price. Can you goooogle them to check out the contents?

Yesterday I made up some delish soft baps for lunch/ supper on the ferry- a selection of fresh chicken breast, prawns or white crab meat.

Absolutely no idea as yet about tonight’s food. It’ll need to be something ready made from the freezer.

              • Something with chips from the freezer for ease. I think there are some chicken dippers

4lbs of pastry done, divided into enough portions for 9 small pies and in the freezer.

                • Mr Snoop went out for lunch and I've been grazing a bit today, so neither of us is hungry.

I've discovered a new snack: fried split broad beans. Obviously not all that healthy, but plenty of fibre and protein. And you don't want many even though they are actually quite tasty and texturally not bad (crunchy, not floury or leathery). They're satisfying in a way crisps aren't.

Anyway, supper: a small handful of the broad beans and a Spanish-style madeleine.
