    • So, the duck is back on for tonight, with roasted parsnips, sprouts, sweet potatoes and anything else I can fit in the tray.

      Anyway else think that mince pies for afters are unnecessary but not a totally bad idea?

        • Yet again no meat and potato pie! It must be doomed. With all the flood disruption I forgot to make pastry. Never mind, I've got it to look forward to tomorrow instead.

          Tonight I'll be making salmon, pea and sweetcorn risotto.

          Creme brulee for Mr GF and blue cheese and crackers for me (as I'd sneakily re-ordered the wine and cheese that never arrived on Tuesday.....and a few other bits).

                • Decision made- OH is fancying pork steaks with a creamy apple sauce, cabbage and peas, so I’ll make the mince today then bung it in the oven with a mashed spud topping tomorrow.
