Edited to add: commiserations about the oven. Not great at this time of year.

I decided to make a rice pudding and tuna quiche in the wood stove seeing as it was lit.
Just as well as it looks like my electric oven isn’t cooperating
Looks like we need to hobble into the New Year and buy a replacement in the Sales. Tis no problem…we have a small work top oven and a woodfired stove for now.
Maybe OH can fiddle with it a bit more in the mean time….

So…the roast veg will be for tomorrow or for soup or freezing.
At least we’re having chips to commiserate the event

I may be some time…… I need to skip dive into the chest freezers to see what we have

And yes, I am so very grateful to have three freezers full of homegrown produce ( plus meat and fish). Just basically spoilt for choice!

Quick sandwich of battered fish fingers last night as my eldest GG was here until late. I'm going to make a mince hash today. I'm looking forward to the smell

Unless I see/think of anything more exciting I'll make tomato and basil soup. We'll have it with bread and butter and a dish of parmesan.

Yoghurt for Mr GF. Blue cheese and crackers for me.
