We are no longer having salmon risotto as when we drove past our favourite fish and chip shop at lunchtime Mr GF suddenly decided that he wanted fish and chips this evening. I'll go fetch them in about half an hour. The salmon can go in the freezer.

Like you say Snoop we put it down to the name, our daughter would buy mince from the butcher making a cottage pie plus some burgers for the freezer at the same time.

Youngest grandson wouldn't eat cottage/shepherds pie when he was little but he loved burger meat and mash.

I guess that makes sense. I mean, if there's chicken in chicken pie, you wouldn't want to eat a cottage or shepherd in a pie?

Salmon, pea and sweetcorn risotto this evening.

Mince pies with a dob of whipped brandy cream.

We haven't had lasagne for absolutely ages, since Mr GF went off string (spaghetti) and, by extension, all other pasta. I'm now trying to think of a way to gently reintroduce it.

Cauliflower curry with lemon rice (to jolly up the colour on the plate a bit).

Bit of baking too: madeleines for gifts with the last of yesterday's mixture plus bread.

We have very different ideas about what's boring. Sounds delumptious to me.
