I've just realised that by the time I'm on my way home from taking my brother in law to his hospital appointment the fish and chip shop should be open, and I'll be driving past it. I think a detour into the car park is in order.

Left over roast with added green beans. OH also brought in some of our leeks yesterday so I made a leek sauce with those.
Sooo satisfying when most of the things on your plate has come from the garden!

Mine was definitely beef stew but unfortunately there was a problem with the (vegetarian) suet that I was going to use to make dumplings. It was an already opened packet that I had in the cupboard and it really didn't look right when I looked inside. I belatedly saw that on the box it said to refrigerate after opening, but I never have before.....

We never got dumplings. I ended up making a Yorkshire pudding instead.

Today was ribeye steak diane. A weekend's worth of calories in one meal.

Chicken drumsticks roasted in honey, saffron and pomegranate molasses. Haven't had that for ages. With some bulgur with dried fruit in it and aubergine fritters. Lovely, but lots of washing up...

Still no paradise slice, I'm afraid.

Be interesting to hear if these frozen delights are what you both think
Going to get a chicken so will roast it, maybe have with wraps and salad or baked potato and salad.

I took out what I thought was a roll of lamb yesterday but now it’s defrosted I’m pretty sure it’s mutton.
We’re really fancying a roast today using our own parsnips and spuds and kale so I’m make a closer inspection of said meat.
If it is mutton then I’ll make a stew or curry to freeze and defrost something else. I know I have several duck breasts in the freezer so they would defrost pretty quickly.
Pud is an apple and blackcurrant crumble with yog.

I took some (what I think is) beef stew out of the freezer, to defrost, yesterday afternoon. Presuming I'm right, we'll probably have it with dumplings, and maybe cauliflower cheese.

Having checked the use by dates on the fresh stuff in the fridge, it's going to be salmon today. Probably in a risotto with peas, sweetcorn and any other veg bits from the bottom of the fridge. I stripped the chicken carcass after our meal last night and put the last of the meat in the freezer and made stock with the carcass in the slow cooker.

A raspberry and mascapone dessert for Mr GF (from the supermarket) and blue cheese and crackers for me.
