II haven't seen them for sale around her for years.....but maybe I haven't looked.
My mom called them finger rolls!
Made ‘posh’ open sandwiches when her friends came over!

Is a finger roll a bridge roll?

    • I found this about bread rolls!…
      https://everywordcounts.co.uk/names-for-bread-rolls/

( oven bottoms for me are flat top and bottom and tea cakes are the sweet fruity ones)

Tonight is tumble salad featuring avacado, eggs and lentils.
Defrosted peaches and yog for pud

          • When I searched for Bridge rolls recipes they're made with flour, butter, sugar, milk and eggs. So rather a rich dough compared to my usual bread cob recipe of flour, yeast, water and salt.

            Tuna bake this evening.

Nicos we had tinned peaches for yesterdays afternoon fruit it was rather like trying to catch a goldfish.

              • Mmm..peaches and Birds Custard!…wow.
So funny Bren…goldfish That’s really made me giggle.Thank you x

I buy a few cartons of fresh ones when they’re at their cheapest and freeze them down to have out of season. Fresh peach crumble with cream or custard is shear luxury in the middle of winter!

                • I've got half a pack of bacon to use up so I'm thinking pasta with bacon and mushrooms and sweetcorn in a creamy sauce, sprinkled with lots of parmesan.

Hopefully, more strawberries and cream. I can't wait for nice peaches or nectarines to appear. All the ones in the shops at the moment are like solid rocks....with probably as much chance of ripening. For me, the juice should run down my chin if I bite into one.

                  • Burrito with the last of the chicken, beans and the usual veg suspects.

                    • Yep, Bridge rolls were for posh open sandwiches at weddings! Muffins were shaped like crumpets (pikelets) with no bubbles. My this is getting complicated!

Sooop today and malt loaf after.
