  • I could not decide this morning. In the end I gave Mr GF the decision: Either: lamb shanks, or a pie (probably chicken), or an omelette, or ribs, or corned beef hash, or sausage and mash or homemade soup.

He narrowed it down to sausage and mash or soup and then settled on tomato and basil soup. We'll have it with bread and butter and a bowl of parmesan.

For pudding I'm deciding between rice pudding and bread and butter pudding. I did see James Martin making jam roly poly on Saturday morning and that idea is also fermenting in my brain but I wouldn't know how to make a two person one.

      • gf…. not sure how similar your roly poly recipe is to this….but they say it’s great for freezing, once sliced…

Thanks. I'd never thought of freezing individual portions. It might not actually live up to my nostalgic memories.... ,but I think I'll give it a go one day this Winter.

              • I've just taken a couple of salmon steaks out of the freezer. If I give Mr GF a choice on what to have with them, his answer will be put them in a risotto.

Therefore pea, PSB, sweetcorn and salmon risotto.

Eve's pudding I think ... maybe with a few blueberries (out of the freezer) thrown in.
