Minestrone soup. Mince pies and cream for pud to placate Mr Snoop (he's not a minestrone fan).
A repeat of the Dan Lepard fruit loaf with some rye in it that I made not that long ago, but with mixed spice this time rather than cinnamon. I'm as bad as the UK supermarkets, hot cross bun flavour way before it's due!
I was thinking about your lamb Flo….so, we’ve decided on Shepherds Pie ( celeriac and potato mash) served with our own kale.
Fresh fruit salad and skyr for pud
We ended up having braised lentils last night. I should just put the minestrone down in front of Mr Snoop and not mention it beforehand. He has a particular way of saying 'soup' that makes it plain he doesn't think it's fair, here he is, working away for our but especially my benefit and all I give him is dishwater with bits floating in it!
Breaded hake, salad and a few chips tonight. Yogurt for pud.
And another loaf of bread. Plain white sourdough this time. Can't be making the good stuff like yesterday's all the time...
Edited to add: And yes, Flo, looking forward to hearing how Himself got on with the rogan josh.
Last night was a concoction of a chicken breast, some streaky bacon, onion, garlic, little potatoes, cauliflower, peas, half a tin of tomatoes, sesame seeds, sesame oil and a couple of very heaped table spoons of crème fraîche. Surprisingly nice.
Tonight is burgers, chips and peas.
Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)
Yesterday was cheese omelette, potato waffles and mixed vegetables, followed by blueberry crumble and cream. It was wasted on me, as for some reason I just lost my appetite.
Mr GF has a similar reaction to Mr Snoop if I give him any soup with "floating bits". He fishes them out and glares at them. However if I give him any smooth, zapped soup, he is more than happy to eat it.
In fact tonight I'm thinking a spicy carrot and sweet potato soup with the obligatory bread, butter and dish of parmesan.
I was thinking of making a Bakewell tart to finish with until I realised I've no ground rice, or flaked almonds. I've now settled on a Paradise slice instead. I've never made it before but I used to occasionally buy a piece at a local bakery. It's similar to Bakewell tart as it has pastry at the bottom, then raspberry jam, but then an almond sponge with glacé cherries and currants in. I appear to have all the ingredients....so I'll give it a go later.
After the fiasco of last Friday when the Throw Out didn't arrive, we've decided on a pizza from the freezer, with some extra veg on top.
"Well, that Golly Gosh made a change" said Himself. I don't think he realised there were green peppers in there and he even ate a small garlic and coriander naan. There may be hope for him yet, although I'd best not get excited too soon
