I should have added that our friend up the valley went on a trip from here to France. I gave him a wad of cash for him to spend in French supermarkets on my behalf. He was advised by his French host to buy confit and cassoulet in Lidl: apparently just as good as the more expensive stuff. I can't buy either in Lidl here. Though last year I managed to buy both in Aldi in Spain. Same problem - impossible to get the confit out of the can.

It ought to be a small joint of pork cooked in the pressure cooker for supper here. Loads of green veg and baked sweet potatoes.

Mushroom stir fry with rice this evening.

Last night I ended up taking some cooked chicken out of the freezer and we just had chicken in tarragon flavoured white sauce on toast.

Tonight ..... no idea.

I'm on easy street today: leftover lentil soup.

Tonight fish fingers, mashed potatoes, carrots, french beans and parsley sauce.

Strawberries and cream.

Fish fingers here as well GF but on bread cobs with lettuce and Tatar sauce. Having a few chips and coleslaw on the side.

Baked pots with cheddar and salad.

For afters, a pair of very boring buns that I will turn into butterfly cakes to up the interest (and the calories).

Haddock baked in an onion, tomato, butter bean paprika sauce.

I'm struggling to think of something I fancy today.

I think ribs, salad, garlic bread, and beer battered onion rings.

Strawberries and cream for Mr GF. Blue cheese and crackers for me.

Menu has changed. We're now going for salmon, sweetcorn and pea risotto. The ribs can stay in the freezer for another day.

Pizza again - third Friday in a row and hopefully the last. Must find a good throw out

'They're all right" was as far as Mr Snoop would go in praise of them. I won't bother with this recipe again. Nowhere near as good as the recipe Bren has saved in her blog.
