    • I think I need inspiring.
I’ll read back on previous posts on here…then do a bit of skip diving into my freezers.

      • I've just given Mr GF a couple of choices and he's picked bacon, egg and tomatoes.

        • Off to our Italian friend's for tea. Early because it's going to be a heavy meal: wild boar ragù with polenta. I've volunteered to take pudding, but goodness knows what after that. Air would seem to be the most appropriate thing!

          • Decision made!
I’m going to make a sort of open pie/ quiche using spiced minced beef served with puréed sweet potato and sweetcorn.
            blackcurrant ‘trifle’ for pud.

              • ^Now that's a good idea. But he's very cautious about food for an Italian. Not sure he'll eat uncooked eggs, but I bet I can find something along those lines. I shall ponder.

                • I cooked a hotpot too today for tomorrow . Always tastier the next day!
So it’ll be that with a pastry top served with broccoli and beetroot.

Lemon cake and clementines for pud.

I should be getting my new oven soon. It’ll be nice not to have to constantly watch out for my baking burning on the top or underneath.

                    • Tonight I think I've finally settled on a fish pie, made with cod from the freezer. We'll have it with carrots and peas and maybe some cauliflower cheese. (I have to admit to buying a bag of frozen cauliflower cheese with my online shop, and I am now addicted to it. Just remove a few florets from the bag, bung in the oven, at the side of whatever is cooking, or even microwave it.) My laziness has reached a whole new level.

Creme brulee for Mr GF. I bought a couple for Mr GF as he loves them and I find the little glass dishes so useful afterwards for so many things and my stock is getting low.

Probably blue cheese, crackers, and grapes for me.

                      • I buy frozen cauli, broccoli too, GF. Very handy to have and no preparation. The broccoli's not bad, but the cauli needs dressing up, I find, in a cheese sauce or curry. Nothing wrong with it, but it just seems to look a bit grey otherwise. I've never roasted it though, but will give that a go.

Chops roasted in the oven plus assorted veg.

                        • Spag Bol here and I'll make a Cottage Pie with the other half of the mince for next week. Donuts again. Every time we have them Himself spills on his shirt. He knows how jammy they are, but still does it

This is actually ready coated already in a cheese sauce (Sainsburys), although I do tend to sprinkle a handful of extra cheese over it.
