Even better get him to watch the "Waldorf Salad" episode of Fawlty Towers.

      • More of the roast chicken. Not sure about pud.

        • Last night ended up being Cornish pasty, cauliflower cheese, carrots and gravy.

I've taken some cooked chicken out of the freezer. I'm still trying to decide between curry or risotto.

I'm amazed. I've just given Mr GF the choice and he's picked chicken (and roast vegetable) curry. We'll have it with naan and/or rice depending how hungry we are.

I'm just going to refill my mini flame thrower toy with gas in case Mr GF fancies his other creme brulee.

            • It will be picky bits for us this evening. I'm making a sherry trifle for in the week and will make cheese and onion flan tomorrow for the freezer.

              • Aubergine parmigiana with orange slices in a rum and sugar syrup.

As much bread as I can manage. Possibly a carrot cake too if I have time.

                  • Flo, you have inspired me.

Cheese and onion flan/tart, new potatoes and waldorf salad.

Not really appropriate for this weather, I suppose. I'll close the curtains and pretend it's Summer.

                    • Cottage Pie with carrots, turnip and cabbage. The trifle will not be set enough until tomorrow so it may be a magnum for dessert.

                      • There were bits left over from yesterday as I impulse cooked a Yorkshire pudding to go with it.
So- frittata using up the left overs served with beans.
Clementines for pud. Looks like the season for those is near enough over as I only spotted them in one shop recently.

                        • ^We've moved onto oranges here. Not as good as last year's, which were spectacular, but not bad.

                          • Mr GF had a rare wander into the kitchen and had a look in the fridge🫣. He spotted the gammon joint that I have been very wary about cooking, due to what he has perceived as tough meat lately. A completely different reality to mine.

Tonight's menuw then changed to baked gammon, new potatoes, corn on the cob (frozen), carrots, PSB and a mustard sauce.

The gammon was gorgeous, as were the new potatoes. The corn was frozen but was better and sweeter than any that I ever froze.
