Cooking Tonight #5

Leftovers today. Don't think I'll be doing any cooking today except for breakfast earlier - tortilla and salad.

I gave Mr GF a choice this morning. He's picked soup. It will probably be mushroom and tarragon, with bread and butter and grated parmesan.

As he's picked something light I might just mix up an eggs worth of batter and make us some pancakes for afters, served with a sprinkle of sugar and little oranges to squeeze over them.

Lunch was leg of lamb with roast spuds, parsnips boiled sprouts and Chantenay carrots. Much mint sauce & gravy of course...

Chips, cheese and onion pastie and baked beans.

Lamb rump steak, roast potatoes and carrots, cauliflower cheese.

I really had forgotten how gorgeous something as simple as pancakes can be.

My online food shop is arriving tomorrow, so I'll be raiding the freezer or cupboards today. I am veering towards either chicken or gammon risotto with whatever veg are lurking in the bottom of the fridge. (Leftover cooked meat from the freezer). I've never made a gammon risotto before, but I'm thinking it might be really nice with poached eggs on top.

Baked pasta with the usual suspects in the sauce. Last of the tiramisu for afters.

Lamb cutlets, roast potatoes and a selection of veg.

Roasted veg and haricot beans in a spicy tomato sauce with poached eggs and sprinkled feta on top all baked in the oven.
Fresh fruit salad for pud

Yesterday’s left overs with added veg, served on a bed of rice.

Ciabatta bread mushroom pizza with salad.

OH has now said he’d like a sausage with his, so I best get some out of the freezer!

Nothing as off up the valley for tea tonight.

Breaded haddock fillets with homemade tartare sauce (capers have just arrived in my grory hop), new potatoes, corn on the cob and some kind of salad.

Up to now Lasagne (soft for Himself) with salad for me. Coconut and raspberry tart with custard.
