  • New dish for us: Korean fish and broccoli tray bake. In theory it's with salmon but I haven't got any, so halibut it is. Rice too. Mandarines for afters.

    • Supermarket delivery has arrived. Choices, choices.

      I think corned beef crispbakes, corn on the cob, couscous salad and maybe a few potato wedges.

      My three bags of frozen cherries arrived. I think I'll make a little cherry pie to try them. (Later in the week I'm planning on making a Black Forest trifle with them).

              • I've now decided to not have couscous salad with the corned beef crispbakes, corn on the cob, and wedges. Instead I'm going to make some ratatouille to go with it instead.

                • Slight change if plan for me too gf..
                  The large jacketing potatoes have started to go green so I won’t eat the skins. Peeled yep. So it’s steamed waxy potatoes with chives and french beans with the fishfingers.
                  The frozen chips were jumping up,and down waving at me( talk about eager) but I promised it’d be their turn soon.

                      • I think sea bass for us, probably just dredged in seasoned flour and pan fried, with new potatoes, salad and corn on the cob.

                        • Do you have a cherry pie filling recipe gf…or is it out of a tin? I have so many black cherries in my freezer…I could do with some alternatives of what to do with them. Never been successful just sprinkling cornfour on them.

                          Tonight is going to be a veggie curry. We have a load of small parsnips from our potager needing eating up..so will make up something using them and carrots

                          • I literally just tip some frozen cherries into a pie dish, sprinkle with a bit of sugar and a drizzle of water, add a few apple slices if I fancy them, put a pastry lid on and stick in the oven. No bottom crust as it would only end up soggy.

                            The best way to use up your cherries? Black Forest gateau, Black Forest trifle or maybe jam?

                            If the cherries are not stoned, stone them with a knife while still half frozen. A lot less messy!

                            An afterthought. Cherry and yoghurt ice lollies?

                              • We're up for roast chicken tonight. One of those yellow jobs that I find a bit unconvincing. I always think they're fattier. I was going to do it in the marmite, in which all the juices go into the gravy. Bit worried it might turn into a really greasy goo. Anyone got any views?
