Jam Success!!!

Hurray!

I made jam for the first time yesterday, and its worked!

I have 12 8oz jars of Victoria Plum jam on my kitchen counter ready to label up and store for Christmas

All I have to do now is make 10 apple pies and 10 plum crumbles for the freezer...

Its part of my dastardly Christmas plan...

Everyone is having home-mades for Christmas - jam, pies, crumbles, scones etc... then I won't have to go Christmas shopping!

Watch out Delia, Nigella etc!

What a lovely idea...I'm sure they will be thrilled at being given the honour of sampling your home produce, and appreciate the time ( better not say sweat!! ) put into making gifts for them.
Make sure you hold back a few for yourself!!

Thats what I'm doing too! I've made some yummy jars of blackberry jam, and am going to pickle some chillis too. I'll do some home-made truffles and biscuits nearer the time, add a nice (but cheap!!) basket, and hey presto! oh, and my aloe vera plant has had loads of babies so am going to pot them up in a pretty container with an information sheet and pop them in too (brill plants if you've not tried them - great to use on bites and stings and all sorts!)

It's a great idea vicki. I'm doing something similar, my folks are aware and there are a few bits I can buy here to add to it and they are thrilled.
