Sounds great rat. Charlotte (my 4 year old - aka Miss E) helped me pick sloes and haws the other day although the interest waned after about 10 mins but nonetheless it was there. She is generally more interested in slugs, snails and worms and regularly brings worms in from the garden or back from the lottie as "pets". She enjoys helping dig spuds and pick beans so I can't complain.

Am also a bit of a HFW fan. Can't abide JO and he gets all the publicity. Makes me made when so few acknowledge what Hugh has done for food and of course GYO. Truly inspiring.

Guessing JO - Jamie Oliver! I think it's brill when children see people like HFW on TV (I've even got OH watching Cook on the Wild Side as we type!) and then get involved! We need more of this to happen! (says she who has no children of her own!) DDL

JO is OK - he's done a lot recently to wake up the nation to healthy eating for kids - but I much prefer HFW! DDL

That's ok LJ. I suppose he has done a lot of good if people are thinking more about what they and their children eat but I just find him irritating. But then my mother thinks Keith Floyd is a kind of god and I also have a fondness for Rick Stein.

Nothing wrong with AWT. He does after all grow his own.

Oh Lesley - I'm disappointed in you. Nothing cute about JO!

I tried telling somebody at work today that they had a good arguement deflection technique. The whole office went quiet and just got on with their work. It was great!

Jennie I never said Jamie was cute! I like Jamie as a chef. His programmes started lots of twenty odd year olds to cook and for the way he is trying to get kids eating proper food instead of junk.

Hugh on the other hand is cute and I must say cuddley.
