Yes, straight off the plant. No blanching, because I find that blanching makes stuff soggy
blanching! thank you (sorry, my painkillers have kicked in now!!)...I wonder if its worth an experiment to see how a blanched spear would fare compared to fresh one in the freezer.
i put mine straight in the freezer as well,and the same thing happened,but is handy that way,i use it in anything,soup,quich,omelett,stirfry,and as for the stems,just steam them along with any other veg,it's still full of goodness at the end of the day,go on give it a try,i have made sure i got a stash in the freezer,

a friend of mine cooked and blended her broccoli along with some other vegs to make up a batch of baby food then froze it. when it de-frosted it tasted REALLY bitter apparently...no idea why - but i have seen it frozen in the past.
