I eat them singly, after I've removed all the blackfly.

    Bitter? Moi?

I had broadies, boiled, drained in cold water and then their little leather jackets off (jackets thrown to the laydees), then mixed with raw newly picked peas chooped new mint and a little olive oil with a steak t'other night - gorgeous

I wish I'd grown more - we only put in 12 plants because OH and I couldn't remember having tried them before and for some stupid reason thought we wouldn't like them (perhaps we were force fed them as kids) but would give them a go.

We have fought over the two portions we've had so far mixed with crispy bacon so will definately be giving some of the other recipes a whirl

I'm letting the last of them get bigger to freeze, when it comes to taking the leather jacets off it's easier on the bigger ones after cooking

Cook them, and some bacon. Mix in with cooked pasta and some creme fraiche. Lovely.
I made broad bean dip last year, too (a little like hummus) and also broad bean and calf liver risotto. In fact, last year, I think I had every possible broad bean recipe available as I grew so many. Today I had the first of this year's, in jambalaya. Tomorrow, just boiled. Love them!

Victoria26, if you have loads, freeze the bigger ones and start picking the rest as broadie 'mange tout'. The pods are really tender when they are small.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.
