But avocado and mango really work well as a salad.
Went to a proper colonial days of the Raj type resto last night (luckily the boss was paying) and was recommended this as the starter.

Avocado and mango salad, with a drizzle of passion fruit oil dressing. I wasnt sure but ordered anyway, tried it.... gorgeous.
Just worked, which I never thought it would.

I know not many of us can grow either in our gardens/tunnels (with the exception of Sewer Rat who seems to have fresh strawbs in April in the highlands) but its well worth a try if you have friends over. Scrummy.

I love papaya and avocado salad (with a sprinkle of cayenne), so I bet it was delicious.

Pink grapefruit works with it as well, so should be good with your salad too, should you want to diversify! (Not much chance of growing one of them either...)

Avocado, apricot, slow roasted baby onions; on gallons of baby spinach with olive oil and balsamic. Hmm.....

I just can't eat mango ... ever since mother brought back a suitcase full from Africa. They was all battered and bruised, and ever-so slightly off, but she insisted we eat some.

Barfed, I did. Can't touch them now (but Body Shop mango body butter is the mutt's nuts for gardening hands)

I can't stand avocado! The one time I tasted it it made me think of classy expensive soap (not that I've ever eaten expensive soap, or even cheap soap, but you know what I mean). Never been able to think about eating the stuff since!
Mango is great when it is nice, but over-ripe, bruised and spoiling... NO!
