Hi all, just a quick update........ I've cook the beetroot cake and it's yummy yummy!! Really easy to make, but the only hard bit is waiting for it to be ready!!
I've yet to try the beetroot and chilli chutney but will do asap!
Tried the pickling but not a success vinegar far too strong - doing something wrong there obviously. But simply, as long as they are Globe beets, I find boiled -for up to 3/4s of hour for biggest - then skin rubbed of , and eaten while still warm, very sweet, very delicious. The longer beets i find are too starchy.

I will leave the effects of a tummy upset to the imagination. Sufficient to say, that is why I don't eat beetroot. I can't remember whether I liked the taste, it was too long ago.....
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Eat well, live well, drink moderately and be happy (hic!)
Beetroot and apple.
Or beetroot, carrot and orange are just 2 lovely tasty smoothies.
I cook all the veg while cooking a main meal and then just blend the next morning with the fruit juice, but you can use fresh fruit if you prefer and then add some water if it's too thick.
