  • Tesco's breadmaker........

Had a bit of a sore throat earlier so I popped into Teco's for a packet of Tunes..............came out with a breadmaker, of all things, which was on offer.

£28.97 (no idea where they dug up THAT price from) reduced from £41 something or other

Anyway............I hope you are all proud of me cos I'm making my first ever loaf.

Making a Hovis type brown to start with and looking forward to seeing and smelling how it turns out.................just 1 hour 42 minutes to go now!

Bought a load of other bread mixes including Parmesan & Sun Dried tomato and Cheese and Onion! (Thought I would start simple though)!!!!!!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Let us know how you get on Snadger with it. I was planning to make some by hand, but there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day at the mo!

Have fun Snadger! Those bread mixes are fab! A fool-proof cheats way of almost home cooking!

I have tried mixes in past and I think they are great! So quick and easy and guaranteed good results!

Think breadmakers can make malt-loaf and some bake cakes too!

Yep......this one can make cakes and jam aparrently!

It also has a fastbake facility and a 13 hour delay if you want fresh warm bread for brekkie!

The loaf I'm making now aint from a mix so I've had me little measuring cup and teaspoon and tablespoon measure on the go!

Ooooh! They bake bread, cakes and make jam?!!?!? Can they make cookie dough & pastry too?

You are tempting me to get one - but my small house is already crammed full! Let alone where I would find kitchen space!?!?!?!?

you can start to freestyle now, and pop in some extra seeds and things (Holland & Barrett work out cheaper than supermarkets, esp. if you get their BoGoFs).

A pinch of cayenne pepper is nice in the bread mixes

There is a Ciabatta mix sold. I use the machine to mix that as 'dough'; half of the dough makes us a monster-pizza, the other half becomes cheese-and-onion loaf, which is actually a giant savoury Danish.........
When we had the French Market selling unusual types of 'dried fruit' I added a mixture of raspberries and cranberries (actually lightly 'candied') to a 'white bread' recipe. That was pretty good too!

Funny that......just picked half a punnet of raspberries and thought about using them in bread? Trouble is I popped them into the freezer until I decided what I'd do with them.

Made a parmesan and sundried tomato loaf this morning and it turned out really well!
