Chocolate Kisses
(makes 24)
75g plain chocolate (broken into squares)
75g white chocolate (broken into sqaures)
115g butter
115g caster sugar
2 eggs
225g plain flour
icing sugar to decorate
Melt the 2 types of chocoltae and set aside to cool
Whisk the butter and sugar until light and fluffy and gradually beat in the eggs. Then sift in the flour and mix together well. Halve the mixture and divide it between the 2 bowls of melted chocolate.
Mix the chocolate throughly into the dough mixture. Knead the dough until it is smooth and pliable. Wrap each of the 2 types of mixture in cling film and leave to chill in the fridge for about an hour.
Preheat the oven to 190 C (Gas 5)
Take a slightly rounded teaspoon of mixture and roll into balls in the palm of your hands and place on a greased backing tray. Bake for 10-12 mins. When cooled, dust with icing sugar.
You won't know whether you are choosing a white or plain chocoltae one, so you'll need to try at least 2!
