  • Frozen yogurt

    Dim question - to freeze yogurt do I need to do anything more complicated than bung it in the freezer?

    Slightly more difficult question - why would I do that? Just to preserve it and thaw when needed or do I use/eat it frozen?

    My fave ice-cream was Ben and Jerry's "Cherry Garcia" but they seem to have discontinued it (along with many other trendy flavours) so now it's only available as a "Frozen Yoghurt" (er, how d'you spell yogurt, yoghurt, yogourt, yoghourt?)

    Is B&J still B&J? Oh, and is "Cherry Garcia" their tribute to the Grateful Dead? duh, only just got that, these things take time...

    Questions multiplying, back to the first one - just put in freezer?

    Thanks in advance for creative suggestions, bound to get some intriguing answers...

    We freeze 'frubes' those tubes of yoghurt, the children eat them like ice pops!

        LOL, disaster... I think I need more help on this one please

        The story so far: the home-made (EasiYo) yogurt was quite creamy and tasty... I put a container of it in the freezer and it froze so hard that I couldn't get a spoon in it... I couldn't even get a chisel in it, was like granite. I knocked a corner off, tried it and it tasted, to be honest, 'orrible! Sharp metallic taste though had never been near a metal container...

        If it's supposed to end up like ice-cream rather than a brick does it need stirring whilst freezing? And what can I flavour it with, a decent slug of brandy maybe? Drives you to drink..... b.

          I think you need to bash it with a wooden spoon every couple of hours to break up the ice crystals.
          Location....East Midlands.
